This Privacy Policy explains how iuLaTeX ("we," "us," or "the Service") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and services at iulatex.com. By using iuLaTeX, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.

Content you create. When you save a snippet, we store the LaTeX code, title, description, tags, and category you provide, along with whether the snippet is public or private.

Usage and technical data. Like most websites, our infrastructure provider automatically logs standard technical information for every request, including IP address, browser type, device information, and timestamps. This is used for security, abuse prevention, and diagnosing technical issues, and is not used to build an advertising profile of you.

Cookies. We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in (session authentication). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and maintain your account, and to let you sign in securely.
  • To save, display, and let you manage the snippets you create.
  • To display your name and profile picture next to snippets you choose to make public.
  • To operate features you use, such as favoriting snippets or generating a shareable link.
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, spam, or violations of our Terms of Service.
  • To maintain the security and reliability of the Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.

3. How We Share Information

We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Public content. Snippets you mark as public — along with your name and profile picture as the author — are visible to anyone who visits the Service, including through search engines that may index public pages.
  • Service providers. We use Google (for authentication) and other infrastructure providers (for hosting, database, and content delivery) to operate the Service. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or in good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect the rights or safety of users, or investigate potential violations of our Terms of Service.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and content data for as long as your account is active. If you would like your account and associated data deleted, contact us using the details below — since self-service account deletion is not yet available directly in the product, we will process deletion requests manually.

5. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can:

  • Edit or delete individual snippets at any time from your library while signed in.
  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.

iuLaTeX is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

We rely on industry-standard infrastructure with encryption in transit (HTTPS) for all traffic. While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

8. International Data Transfers

Our infrastructure provider operates a global network, which means your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We rely on our provider's safeguards for handling data across borders.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
